Five Decades of Water Service in Metro Lipa
The district was established through Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 182 on November 18, 1974 as the Lipa City Water District, formed pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 198 — the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973 — to improve the city's water system. In September 1998 it was renamed the Metro Lipa Water District to reflect its wider service area.
Its mandate is to manage water resources efficiently for the effective delivery of water services to residential, commercial, agricultural, institutional, and industrial consumers in Lipa City and the municipalities of Malvar, Mataas na Kahoy, and Balete, along with parts of San Jose, Batangas and San Antonio, Quezon.
