Bohol Light Company, Inc. (BLCI) is the electric distribution utility of Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Organized and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 21, 2000, it has supplied and distributed electricity to the capital city of Bohol for more than two decades.

Before 2000, consumers in Tagbilaran City were supplied by the Provincial Electric System of the province of Bohol. Through an Accession Agreement signed on August 28, 2000, BLCI acquired the rights, interests, assets, and equipment of the consortium behind the joint venture, and took over the supply and distribution of electricity in the city.
In 2024, Prime Electric Holdings, Inc. — part of the Razon group of companies — acquired a 70% stake in BLCI, with the remaining 30% held by the provincial government of Bohol. The new majority owner has committed to invest at least ₱1 billion in rehabilitating and modernizing BLCI's distribution assets.

Accession Agreement

25-Year Franchise Granted
The National Electrification Commission grants BLCI a franchise to operate electric, light, and power services in Tagbilaran City — retroactive from October 20, 2000 to October 19, 2025.
New Majority Owner & Modernization
Prime Electric Holdings, Inc. of the Razon group acquires a 70% stake in BLCI, with the province of Bohol retaining 30% — bringing a commitment of at least ₱1 billion for rehabilitation and modernization of distribution assets.
