Pangasinan I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PANELCO I) was granted a franchise to operate an electric light and power service beginning January 8, 1979, for a period of fifty years. The franchise area covers the City of Alaminos and the municipalities of Agno, Anda, Bani, Bolinao, Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, and Mabini in Pangasinan. The cooperative's main office is located in San Jose, Bani, Pangasinan, with a sub-office in San Jose Drive, Alaminos, that handles collections and service requests.
PANELCO I is recognized by the NEA as a Category AAA cooperative — the highest classification awarded to electric cooperatives nationwide — and was among the top five electric cooperatives offering the lowest residential on-grid rates in December 2023, January 2024, and March 2024, as reported by the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association. The cooperative is a direct member of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and holds an existing supply contract with the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation.
