Restoring Reliable Water Service in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan
In May 2026, the City Government of San Jose del Monte (SJDM) took over the local water distribution system from PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp. amid a prolonged supply crisis affecting an estimated 250,000 residents. Following a due-diligence review of qualified operators, the city signed a two-month Operations and Maintenance Agreement with Metro Pacific Water on May 20, 2026, and MPW — operating locally as Metro Pacific Bulacan Water (MPBW) — formally began interim operations on June 5, 2026.

Emergency Pipeline Repairs Within its first weeks, MPBW repaired 29 of more than 200 reported pipeline leaks left by the previous operator, restoring or improving supply for over 3,500 households across barangays including Harmony Hills, Dela Costa Homes 3 (Graceville), Gumaoc, and Towerville (Minuyan).

Technical & Infrastructure Assessment Alongside emergency repairs, MPBW is conducting a full technical and operational assessment of the system to identify the root causes of service issues and scope long-term infrastructure investments.

₱70-Million Transmission Project MPBW is investing ₱70 million in a new 3.4-kilometer, 400-millimeter transmission pipeline from the Tanawin Reservoir to the Igay Reservoir, expected to deliver an additional 15 million liters per day and improve service for roughly 15,000 households in barangays such as Kaypian and Sto. Cristo.
